Phlo privacy, the simple version
This is a plain-English version of our privacy policy, written so it is easy to understand. It explains what information Phlo collects about you and what we do with it. You can read the full version at /privacy.

Who we are
Phlo is an AQA Biology tutoring service, run by Olivia Koleczek in the UK. It has two parts: Phlo AI, an AI biology tutor you can chat to, and Phlo Tutoring, lessons with a real tutor. If you ever have a question about your information, email us at hello@phlobio.ai.
What we collect
- Your name and email, when you sign up.
- Your messages to Phlo AI, and its answers back.
- Payment details, if you pay for something (these are handled securely by a payment company called Stripe, we never see your full card number).
- Basic information about how you use the site, so we can make it better.
Why we collect it
Simple: so Phlo works for you. To set up your account, answer your biology questions, take payment if you buy something, and improve the site. That is it.
Your chats with Phlo AI
When you ask Phlo AI a question, we use your messages only to give you an answer and run your account. We do not use your chats to train the AI, and we do not sell them or share them with other people.
We never sell your data
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We only share it with the trusted companies that help Phlo run (like the ones that handle sign-in, payments, and storage), and only when needed.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account, and for a while after you close it, then we delete it (unless the law says we have to keep some records, like payment receipts, for longer).
Your rights
This is your information, so you are in control. You can ask us to:
- show you what we hold about you,
- correct anything that is wrong,
- delete your information.

If you are under 13
You need to be at least 13 to set up a Phlo account on your own. If you are younger than 13, please ask a parent or guardian to set it up and look after it with you. Parents and guardians can always email us about your information.
Cookies
A "cookie" is a small file a website saves to make things work, like keeping you logged in. Phlo uses only the essentials, and our analytics tool does not use cookies at all. You can read more in our Cookie Notice.
